Mrs. Anelia Dosheva

Mr. Anelia Dosheva is one of the first
supporters of the SOFIMUN Foundation and its
activities. As owner and chief of one of the
most innovative producing companies in
Bulgaria, Edita Group Ltd. She is also a
prominent member of Rotary Club Sofia
Vitosha and District Governor of Rotary
International for District 2482 for
2011-2012. She has provided sponsorship,
logistic support and NGO backup for the
SOFIMUN Foundation activities since the very
beginning. SOFIMUN is honored to have her as
a member of the Board of Trustees.
Mr. George Stoytchev

Mr. George Stoytchev is the Executive
Director of the Bulgarian branch of the
“Open Society Institute”. He has a Master’s
degree in Philosophy from the Sofia
University and remarkable professional
experience of over 15 years in the areas of
media and non-governmental organizations,
including director and editor of the
Bulgarian section of Radio “Free Europe” in
the Czech Republic and editor and spokesman
of the Bulgarian National Television. The
“Open Society” branch in Bulgaria and Mr.
Stoytchev are supporting in various ways the
work and the goals of the SOFIMUN Foundation
and its team throughout the implementation
of our projects and initiatives. Grateful
for the contribution by the Open Society
Institute and Foundation in Bulgaria the
SOFIMUN Foundation is honored to have Mr.
Stoytchev as a member of the Board of
Trustees.
Mr. Hans Promberger

Mr. Hans Promberger is one of the leading
experts in the financial and investment
sectors in Bulgaria. Mr. Promberger has been
president of the Rotary Club Sofia
International and currently is actively
involved as coordinator in the relations
with the young Rotarians from the Rotaract
Club Sofia International (part of Rotary
Club Sofia International). Mr Promberger has
helped on various occasions informally to
the SOFIMUN International Foundation.
SOFIMUN is honored to have him as a member
of the Board of Trustees.
Mrs. Irena Dimitrova
Director of Directorate "Prevention, Integration,
Sport and Tourism" of Sofia Municipality
Directorate "Prevention, Integration, Sport and
Tourism" of Sofia Municipality, representing the
Mayor of Sofia
Mrs. Irena Dimitrova is one of the first
people who have supported the SOFIMUN idea.
With devotion, help and support from her
side the first SOFIMUN edition back in 2008
was realized. She is the director of one of
the most important structures in Sofia
Municipality and is the main responsible
person for youth, tourism and sports
activities in the Municipality. Her openness
to new initiatives and projects led to the
support from Sofia Municipality for the
SOFIMUN Foundation. The SOFIMUN Foundation
is grateful to the efforts and support
provided by Mrs. Irena Dimitrova and honored
to have her as a member of the Board of
Trustees.

Ambassador Ivan Garvalov

Mr. Ivan Garvalov is among the leading
Bulgarian diplomats and the living history
of the Bulgarian diplomacy at the United
Nations. Currently, Mr. Garvalov is
president of the Bulgarian UN Association,
and throughout his impressive career, he has
been chairman of the 3rd Committee of the UN
General Assembly, UN Commission for Human
Rights, The UN Special Committee for
desuetude of force in the international
relations, the ECOSOC, the UN Committee
against discrimination. Ambassador Garvalov
joins the SOFIMUN Board of Trusties
following a tradition of a fruitful and
successful cooperation, contribution and
great support the SOFIMUN Foundation
receives by his remarkable experience,
knowledge, advises and attention to the
initiatives of the SOFIMUN team, for which
SOFIMUN is grateful and honored to have him
as a member of the Board of Trustees.

Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary to the
Republic of Bulgaria

H.E.
Ms. Judit Lang is among the leading
Hungarian diplomats. H.E. is Ambassador of
the Republic of Hungary to the Republic of
Bulgaria. Prior to this H.E. has been
vice-chief of the diplomatic mission in
Bratislava. Ms. Judit Lang has been a
correspondent for the Hungarian Telegraphic
Agency in Prague. H.E. Ambassador Judit Lang
joins the SOFIMUN Board of Trusties
following a tradition of a fruitful and
successful cooperation, contribution and
great support the SOFIMUN Foundation
receives from H.E. We are honored to have a
current Ambassador to Bulgaria to join the Board of Trustees.

Julia Nikolova

Dr. Julia Nikolova is one of the closest
supporters of the SOFIMUN idea and the
SOFIMUN Foundation. She has contributed on
numerous occasions to the betterment of the
SOFIMUN initiatives and projects by
providing consultancies and advises on how
to proceed on important cases in relation to
fundraising and cooperation establishment.
Dr. Nikolova is a professional specialist on
dental medicine and is one of the leaders in
this sphere. She is also a specialist on
conflict prevention and a member of the
Rotary Club Sofia International in which she
is the coordinator for youth and Rotaract
affairs. SOFIMUN is grateful to her devotion
and is honored to have her as a member of
the Board of Trustees.

Mr. Kamen Velichkov is a Bulgarian
high-level diplomat. Having been Ambassador
of Bulgaria to Kingdom of Thailand and
Kingdom of the Netherlands, also Chargé
d'Affaires of the Bulgarian Embassy in
Israel, as well as Ambassador at Large,
Special Envoy of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office
for Central Asia; Former Permanent
representative of Bulgaria to the
Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical
Weapons, he has also been Foreign Policy
Advisor to the President of the Republic of
Bulgaria; Director for International
Cooperation, Ministry of Defense; Head of
Desk in Middle East Department; Department
of International Organizations. He is
currently Head of Political Issues
Department, UN and Global Issues
Directorate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
National Coordinator for Bulgaria’s
participation in the UN initiative Alliance
of Civilizations. He is Past-President of
Rotary Club Sofia International and Chairman
of the Subcommittee for International
Community Service in the Professional
Service Committee of Rotary International,

Dr. Meinardus is a leading German political
specialist and the chief director of the
Friedrich Ebert Foundation for Bulgaria
joining the Board of Trusties of the SOFIMUN
Foundation on an ad personam position.
Following the great contribution of the
German foundation in supporting and
sponsoring the SOFIMUN annual conference and
throughout the fruitful partnership between
the two organizations, Dr. Meinardus has
always been a great supporter of the SOFIMUN
initiative with valuable advises, commitment
and real attention to the SOFIMUN conference
and its organizers for which SOFIMUN is
grateful and honored to have Dr. Meinardus

Mrs. Marina Stefanova

Mrs. Marina Stefanova is the first executive
director of the United Nations Global
Compact Network in Bulgaria since its
founding a couple of years ago. Her work has
brought the UNGCNB to a very high level and
has helped achieve positive results both for
the Network and its members. The
coordination and mutual cooperation of the
SOFIMUN Foundation and the United Nations
Global Compact Network in Bulgaria through
work on projects, event and activities has
led to the formation of a progressive
friendship between the two NGOs. Mrs. Marina
Stefanova has supported in different ways
the SOFIMUN conference for
which we are grateful and also we are
honored to have her as a member of the Board
of Trustees.
Mrs. Maya Nyagolova

Mrs. Maya Nyagolova supports the SOFIMUN
initiatives and activities from the very
beginning of its formation a couple of years
ago. Mrs. Nyagolova is a former journalist
of the Bulgarian National Radio in Hague,
The Netherlands. Also she has been Director
of the National Film Center of Bulgaria as
well as Editor of the Bulgarian Diplomatic
Review magazine. She is a lecturer at the
Sofia University. Mrs. Maya Nyagolova has
supported in different ways the SOFIMUN conference for
which we are grateful and also we are
honored to have her as a member of the Board
of Trustees.
Mr. Stamen Tassev

Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum
Mr. Stamen Tassev is the Executive Director
of the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum, one
of the most influential communities in
Bulgaria. Mr. Tassev has served as Deputy
Finance Minister from 2003 to 2005. Before
that time he worked with the Ministry of
Economy as Vice Consul / Chief Commercial
Officer in New York, NY, USA. From 1997 -
2002 he was Managing Director of Newton
Finance Management Group, Bulgaria. Before
that he served as Executive Director of KPMG
/ Barents Group, Sofia. His work also took
him to London (Consultant in the European
Bank for Reconstruction and Development) and
Italy (short time adviser with UNICEF). Mr.
Stamen Tassev has supported the work of the
SOFIMUN Foundation through helping the
Rotaract Club Sofia International which is
one of the main partners of the SOFIMUN
Foundation. We are grateful and honored to
have Mr. Tassev as a member of the Board of
Trustees.
Eng. Stoyan Lazarov

Municipality company "Tourism Services",
representing Sofia Municipality
Eng. Stoyan Lazarov is a leading Bulgarian
specialist in the sphere of tourism. Having
2 specializations - construction of
production facilities and civil buildings,
as well as International Economic Relations,
he is also the manager of projects financed
by EU grant programs and funds. He is the
Secretary of the Consultative Tourism
Council of Sofia Municipality and one of the
founders of the Sofia Tourism Cluster. Eng.
Stoyan Lazarov is a big friend of the
SOFIMUN idea and has always supported the
initiatives and projects of the SOFIMUN
Foundation. He admires the efforts that the
SOFIMUN Foundation implements in order to
show also the beauties of Sofia and

Mr. Valery Stoyanov is the executive
director of the "Hemus Hotels" Plc. - a
leading Bulgarian company in the tourism
sector and hotel management. He is also a
member of the Rotary Club Sofia Vitosha and
a prominent friend of the SOFIMUN Foundation
in all its activities for the past years.
Mr. Valery Stoyanov provides support and
helps the activities of the youth
organizations in Bulgaria through generous
sponsorships and logistic help of his team.
